Samuel Ward - Private "Spencer's Regiment", Stryker p. 314 Shaw p. 37; Family records in Church Register John Winne - Private "Spencer's Regiment", Stryker p. 314; Family records in Church Register * We received the following in April 2007: ...setting forth the (now probably defunct) Belleville Historical Society's listing of the names, services and military references of the patriots buried in the Belleville Reformed Church cemetery, for the entry for Capt. James Joralemon, the full date upon which he was wounded was June 7, 1780, and the page in Stryker where his entry appears is "396" not "296" as you have listed. Similarly Capt. Henry Joralemon appears along with James on Stryker page "396" not page "336" as is listed on your webpage. Also, your webpage spells the surnames of Henry and James as "Joralemon" as it is listed on the memorial in the cemetery, but Stryker spells Henry's surname as "Jaraloman" and James' as "Jaroloman" (there is also a headstone in the cemetery for "Cornelius C. Jerolemon", and in Francis Bazley Lee's 4 volume work "Genealogical and Memorial History of the State of New Jersey" the family name is given as "JEROLAMON" - I've now seen this surname spelled several different ways) The actual entries on Stryker's page 396 for these two patriots (I have Stryker's 1872 Official Register) appears as follows: JARALOMAN, HENRY. Captain, Second Regiment, Essex, May 28th, 1777. JAROLOMAN, JAMES. Lieutenant, Second Regiment, Essex; wounded near Springfield, New Jersey, June 7th, 1780; Captain, ditto.
