1st Lt. Ernest H. Alden

(Nov. 29, 1945) -- 1st Lt. Ernest H. Alden, of Prospect Street, Belleville, was reported killed in action in Austria in March.

Alden was a navigator and radio operator on B-24 Bomber.

He had been previously reported missing and is now officially presumed to be dead.

The notification of his death was received by his wife Mrs. Nora Stevens Alden, of Phoenix, Ariz., on Armistice Day, his 25th birthday.

Lt. Alden had been stationed with the 15 Army Air Forces in Italy.

He was awarded the Air Medal with cluster and the Purple Heart.
